New York Motorsports is a multifaceted business, with a two-car drag-racing team and marketing company based in the metropolitan New York City area, on Long Island. David Hance is the sole owner and driver of both race cars, a Twin Turbocharged 1957 Chevy and a 1993 Mustang. Team New York Motorsports travels across the country, competing at more than 20 different facilities while promoting his annual Shakedown at E'town event at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey.
The team's 1957 twin-turbo Pro Modified Chevy reaches speeds in the 240-mph range with elapsed times in the low-6-second range on the quarter-mile drag strip.
Hance's 1993 "Fox Body" Ford Mustang (representing the third-generation of Mustangs) is the world's quickest and fastest street-legal race car on DOT-approved street-legal tires. It owns both the elapsed time and speed records at 6.86 seconds at 223 mph. It was the first car to ever run a six-second pass in street-legal trim. The car retains all metal factory panels and stock suspension, as well as all original glass.

Today, more than 40 years since its opening day on that hot, humid Sunday in July, Raceway Park has grown into a 500-plus acre, multi-functional motorsports entertainment venue. We now feature two drag strips (1/4 mile and 1/8 mile), three motocross tracks, a 1.3 mile road course track, competition kart racing track, autocross, ride & drive site, airport and more.
